EDGE vs EDG: the quick answer
The EDGE grant is not available to apply for yet. Enterprise Singapore says it will launch in 2H 2026, and that EDG, PSG, and MRA remain accessible until then. Do not delay a project that is ready now solely to wait for EDGE.
EDGE is not EDG. EDG is the current Enterprise Development Grant. EDGE is the announced future unified scheme that is intended to streamline EDG, PSG and MRA. For the canonical programme status and announced details, see the EDGE Grant page.
EDGE vs PSG, EDG and MRA
| If your project is… | Current route to assess now | What EDGE is announced to change |
|---|---|---|
| A pre-approved software or equipment purchase | PSG | Digitalisation activities will sit under the unified scheme |
| A custom business-transformation project | EDG | Enterprise-efficiency activities will sit under the unified scheme |
| An overseas-market project | MRA | Market-expansion activities will sit under the unified scheme |
The table describes the announced direction, not final EDGE application rules. Use the current grant pages for a project ready before launch.
What is EDGE?
EDGE is Enterprise Singapore’s new unified grant that streamlines three existing business grants — the Market Readiness Assistance (MRA), Productivity Solutions Grant (PSG), and Enterprise Development Grant (EDG) — into a single grant scheme.
The goal is to simplify the grant application experience. Under the current system, businesses must determine which of the three grants their activities fall under before applying. Under EDGE, businesses will apply based on their intended activities — such as enhancing digitalisation capabilities, expanding into new markets, or improving enterprise efficiencies — without needing to navigate three separate schemes.
EDGE was announced as part of Enterprise Singapore’s Business Refresh Package in March 2026.
When Does EDGE Launch?
EDGE will be implemented in the second half of 2026. Enterprise Singapore has not announced a specific launch date or opened an EDGE application route. More details will be provided when EDGE is launched later this year.
Until EDGE is implemented, PSG, EDG, and MRA continue to operate as separate grants with their existing eligibility rules and application processes.
What Does EDGE Cover?
EDGE supports activities across the same areas currently covered by PSG, EDG, and MRA:
| Activity Type | Currently Under | Under EDGE |
|---|---|---|
| Enhancing digitalisation capabilities | PSG, EDG | EDGE |
| Expanding into new markets | MRA, EDG (Market Access) | EDGE |
| Improving enterprise efficiencies | EDG (Core Capabilities, Innovation & Productivity) | EDGE |
| Pre-approved IT solutions | PSG | EDGE |
| Custom business transformation | EDG | EDGE |
Enhancements to the activities supported under MRA — such as the removal of the “new market” criterion — will come under EDGE once the grant is implemented.
How Much Funding?
| Detail | Amount |
|---|---|
| Standard support | Up to S$100,000 per year for eligible activities |
| Additional support | Companies requiring more can submit applications to EnterpriseSG, assessed on a case-by-case basis |
Who Can Apply?
EDGE will support all Singapore businesses, including non-SMEs.
The applicant must be a business entity registered in Singapore. Other requirements may apply, depending on the supportable activity. More details will be provided when EDGE is launched.
This is a significant change from the current system where:
- PSG is restricted to SMEs (group annual turnover not exceeding S$100 million OR group employment not exceeding 200 employees)
- MRA is restricted to SMEs (same size criteria as PSG)
- EDG has no size restrictions but has different support levels for SMEs vs non-SMEs
What happens to existing PSG, EDG and MRA applications?
Enterprise Singapore has not yet announced transition details for existing or approved PSG, EDG and MRA applications. Continue to follow the terms in your current approval and check Enterprise Singapore’s launch guidance when it is published.
We will update this guide when Enterprise Singapore provides specific transition guidance.
How Will EDGE Applications Work?
Under the current system, businesses must:
- Identify which grant (PSG, EDG, or MRA) fits their project
- Meet that specific grant’s eligibility criteria
- Apply through the Business Grants Portal (BGP) under that grant category
Under EDGE, businesses will:
- Identify their intended activities (digitalisation, market expansion, efficiency improvement)
- Apply for funding aligned to those activities
- No longer need to determine which grant their activities fall under
This simplification is designed to improve the enterprise experience and make it easier for businesses to access support.

Frequently Asked Questions
When exactly does EDGE launch?
Enterprise Singapore has said “2H 2026” but has not announced a specific date. We will update this guide when the launch date is confirmed.
Will PSG, EDG, and MRA stop accepting new applications?
Enterprise Singapore’s current EDG page says the existing EDG, MRA, and PSG grants remain accessible until EDGE launches. It has not published detailed transition rules.
Can non-SMEs apply for EDGE?
Yes. The factsheet explicitly states “EDGE will support all Singapore businesses, including non-SMEs.” This is a significant expansion — currently, MRA and PSG have SME-only restrictions.
Is the S$100,000 per year cap per company or per project?
The factsheet states “up to S$100,000 per year for eligible activities.” Companies requiring more support can submit applications to EnterpriseSG for case-by-case assessment.
Will EDGE still require certified consultants for management consultancy projects?
This has not been announced. Under the current EDG scheme, management consultancy projects require TR 43/SS 680 certified consultants. We will update this guide when EDGE’s consultant requirements are clarified.
Does EDGE replace all three grants completely?
Enterprise Singapore has announced that EDGE will streamline MRA, PSG, and EDG into a single scheme. The final operating and transition details have not yet been published.
