EEG Equipment Guide: What's Covered and How to Choose

EEG only covers pre-approved energy-efficient equipment. Here’s what’s available for each sector and how to choose the right solution.

From 7 April 2026, EEG Base Tier is open to all sectors. The equipment lists below cover the original 6 eligible sectors. Pre-approved equipment for newly eligible sectors will be announced by MTI later in 2026.

How EEG Equipment Works

Unlike PSG where vendors are pre-approved, EEG focuses on equipment specifications. The equipment must meet energy efficiency standards set by EnterpriseSG.

How to Find Pre-Approved Equipment

Step 1: Visit GoBusiness Gov Assist

Go to the equipment catalog and filter by:

• Grant type: Energy Efficiency Grant
• Your sector
• Equipment category

Step 2: Check Specifications

Each listing shows:

• Equipment model
• Energy efficiency rating
• Supported grant amount
• Eligible vendors

Step 3: Get Matching Quotation

Ensure your vendor quotation matches:

• Exact model number
• Specifications as listed
• Vendor is authorized

Cost Breakdown Requirements

Your quotation must separate:

Tip: Ask vendor for “EEG-compliant quotation” that clearly separates eligible vs non-eligible costs.

Choosing the Right Equipment

Consider ROI Beyond Grant

• Energy savings over equipment lifetime
• Maintenance costs
• Reliability and warranty
• Vendor support

Right-Size Your Equipment

• Oversized equipment = wasted energy
• Undersized equipment = poor performance
• Get professional assessment for HVAC/refrigeration

Check Compatibility

• Electrical requirements
• Space constraints
• Integration with existing systems

Advanced Tier: When to Consider

The Advanced Tier is for larger investments where:

• Base tier cap (S$30,000) is insufficient
• You can demonstrate significant energy savings
• Your sector is: Construction, Manufacturing, or Maritime

Application: Apply through GoBusiness, not BGP.

Common Equipment Mistakes

Wrong Model Number

Even minor variations (e.g., ABC-123 vs ABC-123A) may not be approved. Match exactly.

Discontinued Models

Pre-approved lists update periodically. Verify the model is still listed before applying.

Non-Approved Vendors

Some equipment is only eligible through specific vendors. Check the catalog.

Bundled Costs

Quotations that bundle installation with equipment may have costs rejected. Keep them separate.
